Volunteer Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 13, 2026

These Volunteer Terms & Conditions ("Volunteer Terms") govern unpaid contributions to InboxGuruji as a reviewer, marketer, or maintainer (a "Volunteer"). They are distinct from our product Terms & Conditions. By submitting an application or beginning volunteer work, you agree to these Volunteer Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not apply or continue volunteering. You can return to the volunteer apply page at any time.

1. Unpaid, at-will relationship

Volunteering is unpaid and is not employment, an internship, a contractor engagement, or a partnership unless we later agree otherwise in writing. Either you or InboxGuruji may end the volunteer relationship at any time, for any reason, with or without notice.

We do not guarantee hours, access, titles, references, future paid work, or that an application will be accepted. Time you offer is a gift; we will treat it with care and will not invent busywork to fill it.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to volunteer in your jurisdiction. You represent that volunteering will not conflict with any other agreement (including your employer's policies) and that the information in your application is accurate.

3. Roles

Depending on the role you join, you may be asked to:

  • Content reviewer: check daily lessons, quizzes, or other unpublished content so they stay simple, accurate, and useful.
  • Marketing: help people discover InboxGuruji through writing, social posts, community, or partnerships we approve.
  • Tech helper: help with small product, copy, or operational fixes so lessons arrive on time.

We may decline, pause, or re-scope work. You may say no to any task. Accepting an application does not automatically create a login or platform role; access is granted separately if we onboard you.

4. Confidentiality

You may see unpublished lessons, digest drafts, internal tools, subscriber insights, or operational details. You agree to keep that material confidential and not to share, copy, screenshot, or discuss it outside the people we designate, except where the law requires disclosure. This duty continues after you stop volunteering.

You must not access subscriber accounts, personal data, or admin tools beyond what we explicitly grant. If you receive data by mistake, tell us and do not use it.

5. Intellectual property

To the extent the law allows, you assign to InboxGuruji all right, title, and interest in volunteer contributions (edits, copy, designs, code, ideas recorded in our systems, and similar work). If assignment is not possible, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use those contributions in the Service.

You retain rights in work you created independently before volunteering. Do not contribute material you do not have the right to assign or license.

6. Conduct

You agree to:

  • Treat readers, teammates, and the craft with respect
  • Avoid harassment, discrimination, or hostile behavior
  • Not leak unpublished content or subscriber information
  • Not present yourself as an employee or official spokesperson unless we say so
  • Not use volunteer access for competing products or personal marketing without permission

We may revoke access immediately if these Volunteer Terms are broken, or if we reasonably believe the Service, readers, or team are at risk.

7. Time, tools, and expenses

Hours are flexible and not guaranteed. We do not require a minimum weekly commitment unless a specific role later agrees one with you. You provide your own equipment unless we arrange otherwise. We do not reimburse expenses unless we approve them in writing in advance.

8. No compensation unless separately agreed

Volunteer work is unpaid. Any stipend, gift, credit, or future paid role requires a separate written agreement. Nothing in these Volunteer Terms creates a wage, equity, or benefits obligation.

9. How we use application data

When you apply, we collect your name, email, chosen role(s), motivation, optional city and portfolio URL, and related notes so we can review your application, contact you, and onboard you if we proceed. We may keep applications to understand our volunteer pipeline and for security or legal reasons. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal information.

10. Withdrawal

You may withdraw at any time by emailing us. Please return or delete unpublished materials we shared with you. We may also end access and archive your application.

11. Changes

We may update these Volunteer Terms. We will post the revised version on this page and update the date above. Continued volunteering after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
